Having my Elgrand for a while now I made the mistake of using a car wash whilst traveling. These people use spray TFR on the car then snow foam and jet wash it off. I have washed my own car for years with no problems using guides from here. TFR reacts very badly with the self healing clear coat on the car creating swirl marks white deposits and looks like it could melt the clear coat. I’m having it machine polished and ceramic coated after this last experience hopefully bring it back to its original G30 look. If anyone is thinking of using these roadside car washes please don’t! As it may ruin your paintwork

I think the previous owner had used a car wash before I bought it and it had a patch down the passenger door that looked like someone had thrown up out of the window, I now assume it was TFR that had been allowed to dry, took two machine polishes to get it out.
