I've read here on numerous occasions about a perceived issue with these cars (E51) that some have even devised a modification to avoid. It had never caused me any concern so dismissed it until today that is as for the first time in seven years of Elgrand ownership I hit my head on the tailgate and it bloody well hurt! :confused:

Me, I was 3 and half years, convinced myself, nothing wrong, just give it a little push to get max hight, yip it's definitely a big hit, didn't damage the door though.
So purchase above, very easy fit, long ago Capri, hatch shocks gone, my word it was the heaviest door I have ever lifted, the Elgrand is nothing to the ford ( weight)
So at first, a little bit more of a push to close and need to move the feet as the hatch opens, but it's getting settled now and not so big a thing, but I certainly won't hit my big nut again.
