New gas struts.

Ive just done this little job.

Mine are 800mm in length and 900Nm - it’s actually frightening to open it, like and angry Jack In a Box.

But the opening clearance is slendiferous.

I have composed a post somewhere.

These posts are so helpful having just got my first Elgrand and have subsequently bashed my head every time I've opened the boot. Know this isn't new but how hard to close are we talking with the 900-1000N struts? Have some in my basket but would still like the rest of my family to be able to shut the boot once I've had a laugh at them getting knocked over by it.

I put in 1000N struts and now I am the only one who can shut it - go for 800-900

I fitted 800N, and they are fine. Wouldn't honestly want any more (I don't have a bike carrier on the tailgate).
