Good day all, I have today received a letter from the above insurer stating that they will be unable to insure my Elgrand at next renewal(early August,so I guess at least I have time to sort alternative👍)the explanation I eventually got was that they are no longer able to insure any imports😲 I assume this means a large number of their customers will be affected😕So just a bit of a heads up for any LV Elgranders and others with any imports........
 
Had my renewal quote through from Admiral a few weeks back for £211 down from £251 last year after I changed from LV as they would no longer insure my Elgrand.

At the time I left my 2 other cars with LV on a multi-car policy as the price was still pretty good and they gave me a bit of extra discount when I phoned them.

LV's renewal quote this year for the 2 other cars was £675 up from £560 last year. (both cars are quite powerful V8's)

Added both cars to the Admiral policy for a total of £340 extra so approx £335 less and they also reduced my Elgrand renewal down to £176.

Quite apart from being quite a bit cheaper the excess is also less.

I have been with LV for quite a few years and always been happy with them having had a claim paid out back in 2020 which I thought they handled well and were fair with the pay out.
 
I'm another admiral customer. Down to £245 from £345 last year.
Pleasant surprise.
I had to claim with admiral over 20 years ago and they were a nightmare. Had to get the ombudsman involved.
Hopefully never again though,...
