LIST OF ACTIONS REGARDING E51/E52 CATALYTIC CONVERTER ISSUES

What about getting rid of the mid silencers. I've got a nismo backbox on mine. Would be nice to listen to that v6 as it sucks my petrol when accelerating 😅

Any recommendations for a reliable source to do option 4?

So I just bought a series 2 E51 with apparently, the front cats removed and the rears still in. She also has LPG, so I'm confused about my options regarding the words in Option 5?

That is considered to be a good option, one I had with my 2007 LPG converted Elgrand camper. With the rear cats in your exhaust won't smell quite as bad when running on petrol.
Make sure you have plenty of LPG onboard when presenting for your MOT test and tell them you run on LPG, should a tester tell you have failed on emissions ask firmly and politely if the test was done on LPG.

Option 5 doesn't really apply to you as most of the cost and time elements has been done. If you wanted to be really safe from cat failure you could remove or replace the rear cats, which are positioned roughly in the centre of the body.

Really appreciate that Colin, can I buy rear decat pipes anywhere in UK? John

I think this is what you are looking for https://forum.elgrandoc.uk/threads/Elgrand-e51-secondary-de-cats.24691/

I believe the previous owner of my Elgrand bought her exhaust system from @Elementian

I think you may need 10 posts before that part of the forum opens up to you.
