I didn't see any kids rides last year sorry @Walton

@deano. The trade stands were in the yellow area closest bit to the paddock.

Got mine

Quick Question - Are there any small kids rides set up? We did Santa pod and they had a few bits to keep the kids entertained
Hi Walton, No, there are not usually any rides for kids at Combe action days. :(

Just been having a look at the plot we are on and as Ash said it does look like a very tight plot for 9 Elgrands

Hardly looks big enough for 9 MX5'S

Will e-mail them later and see what they have to say

Also trade stands in the Purple and blue paddock sections at the action day earlier this year

@kfgas - Yes, still planning on bacon butties for club members :)

They probably don't even know what an Elgrand is Kev!

Just sent this e-mail to Coombe and will see what they come back with. They have always been really good in the past with any queries

Hi just been looking at the plot size M24 you have given us for this years JDM Coombe where we have 9 Elgrands on the EOC Display stand and very concerned at how tight it looks.

Not certain that you realise how big the Elgrand is as it is over 4.8 metres long and needs at least 5.3 metres in length in a parking space to allow the rear tailgate to open

It is also 1.8 metres wide and 1.9 metres high with quite wide front doors which when fully open considerably increase the width

Could you give me some reassurance please that I can pass onto Club Members that the plot you have allocated to us is going to be sufficient to allow us to park together and have room around the vans for chairs etc so that we can sit around the vans for a social event as this is a major part of why the members of my club come to JDM Coombe and have been doing since 2018 with quite often well into double figures attending

I have just had this reply back from Coombe

Hi Kevin

I have checked for you and to confirm you have plenty of depth in this area but also if need be the area behind you is free so you can use this as well โ€“ its M37 please see attached map

Also just for info please give us these requirements ie large vehicles etcโ€ฆ as you stated below when you register so that we are aware and can make sure you have plenty of room. Luckily JDM is not as busy at our other events ie Spring/Summer so we do have space still free.

Hope you all have a great day at JDM

Best Regards

Maria Fisher

Track Hire/Events Co-ordinator

And my reply

Hi Maria,

Many thanks for your prompt reply, that would be great if we could make also use M37 as well as M24 as it was the fact that we were backed up to the M37 area that was my mine and other club members main concern that due to the length of the Elgrand which ideally needs a minimum of 6 metres to allow for the rear tailgate opening and were uncertain what size cars would be in this area and did not want any sort of problems occurring if we needed to encroach on this area.

Will definitely take your advise and make certain to inform you in future of our requirements regarding size.

Best Regards Kevin EOC Event Organiser.

So looks to be a bit of a result as we can have 5 Elgrands with plenty of room between them on say M24 and 4 Elgrands on M37 with again plenty of room between them with all of the facing out and a social zone between us at the rear of of our Elgrands which I think is the best set up we have ever had as in the past we have normally just been in a line.

I will print off the e-mail fro Maria confirming that we also have use of M37 and take with me just in case.

Just need to get my Elgrand a bit up together now as it has been very neglected over the last few months and many jobs that I had intended to get done in time for Coombe will not be done but the good news is some have been done:D:D

Thanks for your hard work Kev. Itโ€™s really appreciated. Thatโ€™s good news weโ€™ve got plenty of room now.

Well done mate, next year Iโ€™ll be more organised and park with the rest of you lol

Be good to see you Mark ๐Ÿ‘

We are booked to stay at Membry services on the Friday night so we can meet your bright and early at morrisons. Can't wait!

Not long now      ๐Ÿš’๐ŸšŽ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿš’

Just been out and put my e-hanger in my Elgrand so that I do not forget it.

Looks like the weather could not be better with a high of 22 zero chance of rain with sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Really looking forward to meeting you all and your Elgrands:D:D:D:heart::heart:

Will be going down to top up with petrol this evening so just need to sort my Elgrand out and will be already to go๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘:party:

I assume the aim is to leave Morrisons at 8 to arrive before the 8.30am shut off?

Is anyone doing a track lap?

Yes will leaving Morrisons at 8.00 or a bit before if we are all there although no real problem with the 8.30 cut off as this does not seem to be too rigidly enforced

Takes about 20 minutes from Morrisons to Coombe

I have done the Slow Parade Lap in the past but not the Track Session, bear in mind if you do this you will not be covered by your insurance and some cars will be trying.

Was thinking more of the slow parade lap tbh, not if a mind to rant around ๐Ÿ˜‚

Will be aiming to get to Morrisons for about 7.30, anywhere in particular in the car park or just look for a bunch of elgrands huddled together? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜
