I’m with Greenlight too, have been for a few years
Lots on here with Admiral, @Debzlivinthedream , did you try online or phone——— phone is usually best

Thanks Dave, I went with Green light, so thanks! as they gave instant quote £379 which i needed so i could pick up the Elgrand this afternoon

I am with Admiral and have recently renewed a month or so ago and was actually cheaper than last year, mine is also 4 wheel drive but can't see why this would make any difference

There are quite a few on here who are also with Admiral.

Hi. I use Greenlight Insurance and I have seen that other members use Admiral.

Thanks and good thinking! A different guy today at Admiral and yes a totally different experience, very helpful.
I needed the insurance lunchtime and when they eventually came back this eve £309 I had already taken out with Green Light, cost me £379, but to cancel is £79 so will stay put. Love my new Elgrand so much!!!!

There is always a lot of talk about this insurance malarkey - I think it’s about time I took the plunge and bought some.

Expensive though.

If you don’t use it do you get your money back?

Or can you just do a kind of ‘roll over’ and get your next year free?

I remember the day when full no claims would get you 60% discount not the 20% most offer today the robbing bar###### mine is due for renewal in September let's see what they want to rob me for this year

Friday Rant!!!

I have 30 yrs no claims.

A week in with the new Greenlight Insurance policy and they asked for photo of my millage, I sent a photo, no problem.

Sent my no claims proof, no problem

Next, asked to see my driving licence, so I sent a photo of card one which has my photo, no problem.

They next asked me to go to some government website and give my national insurance number and confirm other personal info, so to get the precious 'access code' Greenlight wanted.

Like a fool I went along with it and did this, but feel angry with myself, as to get the code you had to agree to them sharing your personal details with every Tom Dick.....

Never again!

Doesn’t sound right, I’ve been with Greenlight a few years now and the only thing I send them is mileage as I’m on limited

You get an MOT every year, is that not proof
I must be missing something!!!
If you went over by loads it could be void, if you went over by a little they could charge X amount per mile.
You are only estimating how many miles you do in that year, the MOT proves how many miles you have done previously, to give an average.
So if you do more miles in that year, you would up at the renewal.
I need to stay off the grouse, this is getting heavy.

Insurance companies have access to MOT info and more, I have never been asked for my NI number, and if I was, no chance of me giving it.

Good point with the M.O T, felt lots of unnecessary hoops.

Greenlight required my National Insurance number apparently for them to 'Mirror' my insurance on my other car, mirroring is a new one for me but they advised I go for it.

Yes totally agree Michael, they don't want good careful drivers, no money in them.
So I decided today to go with Admiral as still within the14 day Greenlight cool off, less £73 costs!, Admiral cool off is £20 costs b.t.w.

Going with Admiral as I intend to build up Elgrand's no claim without effecting my other main drive car. Felt quite pressured with Greenlight throughout but just my thoughts, I'm sure everyone has a different experience, although even with cancelling today I won't see the refund until midway through September!! what's that all about?! They do all the refunds once a month apparently.
