Daft question for the e50 owners not the e51 and e52 owners , since im not on here very often now , maybe a quick visit now and then , im wondering how many e50 owners use the forum , just put a comment below to show you are active or a e50 owner. I have 2 e50s and have owned e50s for about 15 years ish , I have said for a few years that im getting rid but still going , one of e50 mot is due next week , if it passes (it should) it will be going up for sale , other one i might try and keep for old time sake ha ha , but defo near end of road for me ,

Still using mine as my daily, just passed 8 years of ownership and no intention of changing😉fuel cost is only real downside but do all my own maintenance and servicing so keeps running cost reasonable and capital outlay to replace would not be justified when all things considered😉at 27 years old it is remarkably tidy and has never needed any welding, I treated and painted/under sealed when I bought it and have kept on top of looking after the underside, the most practical vehicle for my needs, it's a fair sized van for carting stuff,a minibus for family trips, camper(bit cramped for older people😉),great towcar for car transporter, bike trailer and folding camper, and still rare enough to be a conversation starter at times, hopefully a full respray soon to freshen up appearance

Hi Malc.
I'm still looking in on the forum most days and spoiling my 3.5.
My son may be interested in an E50. Been looking for a couple of years now, but as you know it's virtually impossible to find one now that's not rusted out 😕

That's a surprise, I've seen at least a couple in Liverpool admittedly some are kind of rust buckets and others pretty clean.

Mines got a few spots of surface rust but overall not bad for being nearly 26 years young.

I see a lot of nice looking E50's but generally stop looking after checking the MOT history.
I had my 3.2 for 13 years and spent a lot of money getting it patched up but was literally holding some panels together with gaffs tape before it was scrapped.
Then bought a 3.5 with very low mileage and had it rust protected asap🤞

When I got mine from the dealer it already had the rust spots, it ain't the cleanest example but still not a bad looker all things considered, I quite like the stock three spoke rims it came with too.

Only have the 3.3 model, I feel the horsepower is a little underwhelming for such a big engine but it pulls the shed along and sounds good doing it XD.

Spoke too soon. Nice looking one here. Light corrosion mentioned in the last two mots so hopefully the new owner will get on top of that before it gets too bad.

An E50 in good condition is rare even here in Russia. There might still be some left somewhere in Japan. If you invest in a one-time body repair and then maintain it, treating the interior cavities with Movil, cleaning, washing, and treating the drainage holes in the sills, I think the body should last a long time.

I just bought mine three weeks ago. It is 2001 and was an import in 2011 and converted to a campervan. I am still trying to work out what everything does. So far it has cost me 2 new tyres, and a broken door lock. There seem to be some gremlins in the electrics as well.

spent the last 12 months restoring my e50, just passed my driving test on the 28th. my e50 going for its first mot in 6 years on tuesday morning and all being well ill be on the road with her tuesday afternoon :)
