Fuel gauge problems

Hi all I don't think the recall part worked or it's my fuel sender because it doesn't drop below quarter of tank and it run out of fuel today luckily in my garden

You could just take the cluster out to check the recall has been done it's an easy job to do but do make sure you disconnect the battery first

I had a stuck fuel guage when I purchased mine.. Mine wouldn't go beyond 3/4 full. I took the sender out and have the relevant bit a wiggle and a clean and it's been fine since. You could check that as it's relatively easy to do.

Hi, driver side, just behind driver seat.. In the middle of the driver side door kind of thing. under carpet, then some screws. Assuming you have done this kind of thing before, but if not I can give better instructions.

I would, with the tank empty, remove the instrument cluster and set the needle to ‘E’. Then fill up the tank and see if it shows full. I’m not sure if they check the needle position after installing the mod.

There's a specific set up procedure for needle position setting. It's on here somewhere. Not near a computer at the moment though.

Yes, I forgot about that, I did it myself some time ago

I wouldn't take any notice of the remaining fuel indicator on the screen. Mine often says 50 or 60kms remaining and then goes blank. I work out how many km I can do by filling up which is 75 litres and then multiplying that by whatever km/l figure you are getting for example 8km/l. So that would give you 600km. But to be safe I would get to 500km and then refill the tank! My van is werid as she over reads!
