E51 or E52

The 2.4 litre non-hybrid Alphard/Vellfire AH20 (2008-2015) has a CVT... Aisin K112. Same E52 challenge, same result if fluid isn't changed. They often judder, have delayed drive/reverse selection, and eventually fail at over 80k miles (130,000km) - common export mileage. Not to mention the head bolt issue the 2.4 litre 2AZ-FE has, and the piston rings issues (class action lawsuit for that) . And no tow rating. The newer AH30 2.5 has the same tweaked CVT, with the same issues. Good luck!

Better have deep pockets and get a hybrid (planetary gearest e-cvt) or V6 model with conventional auto.

Thanks for the heads-up, no CVT Vellfire/Elgrand/anything else for me then 👍 👍
