Disaster!

It's a bit difficult to follow what's happened here, it would be difficult anyway because of the fairly high total number of posts, even more difficult when there are several threads about it.

Can we have a summary of what happened from start to finish (would anyone, maybe @parcel mind doing it)?

I've probably got this wrong but my take on this so far is - Parcel bought an Elgrand sold by a dealer who described it with wording to the effect of 'not in the best condition' but it had a current/recent MOT pass. Soon after buying Parcel found some more faults on it (what faults), it was taken to another garage (not the one that did the MOT) who said it should be scrapped. Parcel asked for his money back and the dealer he bought it from agreed verbally and in an email to give him his money back?

I'm sure once he gets his money, we will know.

As we can guess, the seller will want to inspect the vehicle, just to make sure no damage has been made ( yes bull****), he's a very busy man.
Then talk to the MOT guy, he's a very busy man.

I don't want to go on, but it will take time, hopefully a result in the end.
Yes I have been in the same situation but was fortunate to pay with card ( not all just some, which is enough for the card to issue the refund and sort the issue)

Methinks that now he has let it go without getting any money back and going on the feedback and reviews of the garage and the propieter he will be very lucky to get anything at all ..the garage will again go bust and change to yet another name and he will be stuck as a unpaid creditor ..it is going to get nasty and t long time in court..hope I'm wrong but I can see it coming ..it's always the most trusting and most needy who get stung by baskets like these

It hasn't developed, no reply since filing court claim, apart from an unofficial call from one of his lackeys.
Hes just a passing fad, so I guess I gotta wait.

Got another another car now, tho, at least there's that.

Keep at it and at it and at it. The 'wear you down' with time and frustration is a method unfortunately used by many an organization.
