I have a 2007 Elgrand camper conversion incorporating a Roll down bed. having not used it for camping over the last few months, I lifted the Tailgate and saw mould along the bottom edge of the bed. At first I thought this was caused by water leaking through the top hinge however having monitored this for a few weeks I feel it is being caused by condensation. When closed, the Tailgate is pushing against the lower part of the bed, ie where your head would be if you were sleeping. I am seeing the pattern of the stitching on the inside of the Tailgate formed in the condensation so I know the 2 sides are touching. The bed is quite damp. Has anyone else experienced this? Apart from leaving the Tailgate or window open to air and using moisture absorbing products does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this.
 
My first thought is do you have a sunroof? Here's why.
 
No Sunroof but do have a Pop Top which I had to get resealed 12 months ago, seals all look good but will check further.

I was wondering if you had a blockage in the sunroof drainage system, but that can be ruled out.
 
It's most likely condensation, get this a lot in tourers, especially in small ones in the cold weather, not a problem in the summer
 
I always turn my heating to cold settings for the last 5 minutes of journey to reduce risk off condensation in cold weather when I forget it has been known to get ice on inside of windscreen in very cold weather
 
Mattresses need to be on a slatted base or they will definitely go mouldy, they need to breath. I reckon the damp is your sweat and breath.
