Consultation on new vehicle emissions laws. How will it effect Elgrands?

Not sure if anyone is aware, but the Gov't are publically consulting (i.e, will know doubt be brining in) some emissions thing, which includes removing cats and exhausts which change the emissions on cars etc.

It isn't just 'tuned and modded' cars in the way we usually associate those terms, there's stuff about co2 being as it was when new and cat converter stuff.
Anyone know if this will mean the decored Elgrand rear cats coming a cropper? Will the new law totally oulaw it?

One of the lines in the Gov't link says 'removal of 3-way catalysts (TWC), commonly known as catalytic converters'
Given the law will/could then mean a £1000 -> unlimited fine, will decoring end?

Bit beyond my piddly Elgrand knowledge, but don't seem a happy day? Is this the end for them here, or worry over nothing?

I haven't removed any cats. (In the unlikely event they have been removed) they must have been removed by the dealer. If the MOT inspector can't tell they are removed then how could I possibly know?

In any case, surely the important thing is that the car complies with the emission requirement. You could have all the cats but if they don't work......

As far as I'm aware, if decor the rear, you'll still pass and a test for cats will also pass, so no different.

Anyway nothing I can do as the people in charge have already decided, so we'll just have to wait and see, like everything in life.

From what I hear, your vehicle has to pass something close to its emissions as stated at its date of manufacture, not sure how the current LPG emissions levels will be impacted

The emissions probe is shoved up the exhaust - I have four exhausts, so my emissions are divided by four….. so I’m not bothered.
