Belts squealing

Needs to be tightened slightly, it won’t get better , it will get worse
 
Then it will snap.

Any idea when these belts should be replaced? (Sorry still learning how to navigate the forum)
 
If you need to have then tightened you may as well have them replaced at the same time for complete peace of mind. It's not a big job so shouldn't cost a fortune.
 
Mine is a 2010 and it only had 50K on the clock and most of that would have been km but regardless, I had them replaced with belts from @BMR as soon as I got it, can’t be too careful. About a week later I had to take back to garage to have re-tightened, need to be blooming tight, been fine since.
 
Once you have them replaced , they will need tightening up once they settle in ..
 
Noises have begun. Been getting worse over the last 3 months. Ordered Gates made belts just now for 40 delivered. Noted fitting tips from this thread.

Mine started squealing this week. Popped it down to my local Elgrand garage who checked condition of belts. All good so they tightened them up for me. Said they'll check condition again in October when it goes in for service and mot.
Best thing was they didn't charge me!

I had the dreaded 15 second squeal on my E51 for quite a while . When I finally looked at it the AC belt had split across the V’s every half inch. Put a new belt on and fastened very very tight, ignored the recommended 45 deg deflection - theres no deflection at all on belt Have had no problem for 8 months now.

Interesting. I was told that my belts are worn and they need replacing so I had them replaced by a garage during the MOT, ever since they have been squealing, I took it back and waiting for the car to be fixed now.
 
If I remember right, I think LeStempy gave me the advice at the time they need to be 'tight as f##k' 😂👍🏻
 
And wow that was 4 years ago and mine have just started to squeel again🙄... But considering a little change of import and looking at Honda Odyssey's....early days though
 
They suspect it's the power steering pulley but I find this hard to believe as before changing the belts it didn't squeak, only occasionally in winter, during morning start ups. After changing the belt it started squeaking and after taking it back to rectify, it became worse so it's again back with the garage. I will give them a last chance to rectify and take it elsewhere as I am starting to get fed up. They are going to remove the belt and feel the pulley they told me to confirm if it's that causing the issue or not.
 
Tight AF , tighter than you expect, and they may well squeak on startup. Known feature....
 
What about e50 that has 3 belts, are they all done from underneath

Is its the 3.3 I'm pretty sure I used to be able to do them from above
