any one use those solar plug into ciggy lighter units, ant recommendations' , thank f its getting warmer

I have one plugged in to an old Clio, still needs jump-starting the same as if it wasn't plugged in. I would recommend a noco jumpstarter over one of these

If you are talking about solar panel trickle chargers I have recently bought one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DSL9SL1Z?psc=1 and use it through the OBD connector, my understanding is that the cigarette lighter sockets on the Elgrand do not connect to the battery when the ignition is off.

Magnu is parked on the North side of the house and spends most of the day in shade where performance has not been impressive, the device reckons it is charging even when in the shade. I have not had a chance to park for an extended time in a sunny position to fully test performance.

Buyers on Amazon report good results.

Solar panels work on light so even in shade they will charge batteries I have a fixed panel on the roof of my van and in full 🌕 shows about 25V and a charge of 3.5 amp to the batteries in shade it will show charge of about 17V and a charge of 2amp to batteries if required they are designed to keep batteries charged at full voltage so charge rate will change I have known mine to go below 0.25 amps on a normal day and it only shows a higher charge if I am working on the van with the doors open and footwear lights are on
