Anyone know how I can get a spare key for my Elgrand?

Can you send both keys away the one that is ok so they can clone the new one ?
 
Hi guys. Im in Inverness Scotland and had a couple of questions if anyone can help.

I have one (just) working oval fob and key for my E51. Battery is failing. Two questions -

1. Can I replace the battery myself without de-tuning the fob?

2. Can I get a second key done and programmed remotely. Or can anyone suggest someone in the north of Scotland who could do it?

You can swap out the battery but buy a top brand one, cheap ones cause problems.

Vehicle and keys need to be together for reprogramming but a simple job if you have the gear.

Based in arbroath, he came on short notice down to dunbar, on a Sunday, and sorted me out, there was a few things he had to figure out but he didn't give up and managed it and I've since had 2 working keys with no issues. since.

Hi Andy,

We've recently just bought a Elgrand in Plymouth, however only came with one key.

If we got a spare key, would you still be able to program it?
Gives us an excuse to drive down the coast to Weymouth.

yes I can But you must get the key cut first
 
My E52 came with 1 key. I just had a second key fob coded and key cut. Couldn’t have been easier. 15min job.

Go see these guys in West London. They are friendly and specialise in Japanese import. £90 + VAT to code and cut a key. I supplied the key (£70 on eBay)

Just to say I did some Xray work for these guys years ago, and they are really good.
 
I saw an item on Aliexpress recently - search for JYGC Magic Electronic Normal Remote HB3 Mini Cable

It looks a cheap and simple way to create a 2nd fob if you need one.
 
Hi.
Anybody locked the only key inside the van?
Finished my shift, opened the side door, dropped my backpack (key in the backpack) closed the door, a colleague asked my something, spoke for a few minutes, want to go home, door not opening, colleague laughed and dropped me home, I'm still crying.
Van is in Amesbury SP4. Any advice for minimum damage to the van and to the wallet.

That is worrying. I thought it was not possible to lock the doors when it detects the keys are inside.

Hi. I've a programmer sitting in my garage if you are OK having a go at following the forum tutorial. It's pretty easy to do. A bit far from you but if you're ever down here / want to arrange postage you are welcome to lend it. Alternatively you could buy a programmer yourself off AliExpress & it'd still be cheaper than a locksmith fee.

I'm down on the south coast, and just waiting for my programmer to come back from another member after the programmed keys and fobs.
Your welcome to borrow it, but it is odd that the key was locked in. I think the fob is detected by the locking system, but the key is NFR and has an extremely short range, so whet was done to lock the vehicle?, do you have a fob without a hard key?, that should still unlock the doors??
 
Don't have anything else, everything I've got is in the van even my wallet, id, driving license, credit cards etc Wasn't aware the van has a mind of it's own so I didn't precondition my brain for this scenario. Was sure it can not happen with the key inside because I've done it before (left the key in the door pocket) and it didn't lock.
Any ideas how can I get in? Who you gonna call? Who you gonna call?
 
It shouldn't lock with the key in the car if the system is working correctly. Also, it should only auto relock if you unlock and don't open a door, so maybe there is a fault, could be as simple as a faulty door switch. If you have breakdown cover then call them.
 
Yes. Just read the exclusions and is not there. I will call and see. Will it count as a claim?
 
Solved. Phoned a local business. If anyone interested total damage 85+VAT, picked me up from home, one key just for the lock included. Will send me a quote for a spare key later.
