Right, I have now installed another add on that allows people to use hashtags. For those familiar with the hashtag system from using Twitter or Facebook, you should be right at home. For everyone else, hashtagging is basically a way to "tag" your post using a phrase.

All you have to do is put a hash in front of a phrase WITHOUT spaces (so [HASHTAG]#Hashtag[/HASHTAG] for example).

You will note that the above example is now turned into a link. When you click it, it will take you to a list of all the posts that contain that tag.

Or, read the below link for more info...

http://mashable.com/2013/10/08/what-is-hashtag/#mUzI62pGwuqR

The tags will then form a "trending" analysis. The top tags will be highlighted (somewhere, not sure where yet)... and members can then click on those "trending" tags to see what's been posted on them.

Try it. See how you get on. But don't hashtag EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING else I'll get pissed off and remove it. Be sensible with your tags...

Should we [HASHTAG]#hashtag[/HASHTAG] old posts?
And how about a list of approved hashtag names so it doesn't get out of hand & turn into Instagram with multiple hashtags / names for the same subject / topic / thing?

There will be official tags released for key events. But the tags look like they are linked to the standard tags you can apply to posts. I need to do a clear up of the tags to be honest. Might do that now.
