Hi can someone explain what the AFS button is for please, am guessing something to do with the lights but I don't notice a difference if its on or off haha.

Adaptive Frontline System, the light beam follows the curvature of the road when turning or driving on winding roads, thus enhancing the visibility (I think??)
 
Does it work when turning the steering wheel or based on the curvature derived from the navigation map (in which case it would only work in Japan)

I’ve got AFS and I can’t really say I have noticed any significant benefit. I can see the beams moving with the steering but so what.

Must have done that myself as I have the AFS OFF light on on the dash. Where is the switch?

Would you notice the lights in the unit moving when turning the steering wheel at stationary or is it doing something inside the headlight lens? I went to look at an E51 with AFS but couldn’t see any movement in the headlight unit despite looking like it has space for the lens to change angle. Car dealer tried to convinced me it wasn’t a fitted feature despite it clearly having a factor AFS switch.

I don’t have AFS so can’t be 100% but I’m pretty sure sure the projectors won’t move with steering whilst stationary, you have to be moving
They may well move a little to calibrate on startup
 
Good Morning... Where would I find the AFS sensor on the car?... Could anyone kindly help me out with a picture if possible?
