So when ordering parts is nearside left or right hand

In nautical and aviation terms it's port side for the left which is the red light.

Yes, the side near to the kerb is the nearside.

Oh Christ this brings back memories of working in a workshop in the UK.
Every country and car manufacturer in the world has LH RH.
It's that simple!
The UK near side "near side to what"
The kerb! But you also park what ever side you want.
Then also what about LHD cars in the UK.
Oh god Near side to the kerb side drive cars.

It makes no sense at all.

I used to fly model planes, they were expensive and time consuming to build.

Right was Right on the joystick if the plane was flying away from you.
Right was Left on the joystick if the plane was flying towards you.

Up and down was pretty straight forwards, unless you were inverted then down was up and up was down.

So if you were inverted and unsure as to which way the plane was flying, it was BinBag time.

Imagine our indicator stalk issues and times it by 100.

30hrs to build and 3 seconds to destroy.

I don’t do that anymore, too much stress…

Had that with Helos a nightmare.
