After reviewing how to replace front wheel bearings on my E51 via very good you tube video I thought I would have a go. Well I haven’t all the garage tools and press ,so I purchased the complete hub and bearing off a well known sight at £180 a side. Also drop links , discs and pads…
Removing discs and pads quite straightforward then onto the hard bit .getting the sockets onto the top of the hub bolts was a nightmare as I didn’t have a ratchet gun . In the end purchased a long breaker bar and that did the job. Once removed, also removed the ABS sensor?. Removing the hub from the suspension arm requires blood sweat and tears plus gloves as your hands will bump into hurtful metal things lol. Heat gun and heavy hammer did the trick. Once that was out of the way replaced the drop link bitch of a job as the nuts were rounded off by previous owner or garage. New ones fitted along with the new bearing and hub which was easier to fit and straightforward. ABS sensor fitted Then new disc and pads ….. now for the other side .. 😳
