The time has come to replace my aging Mercedes 124 Coupe for a newer car thanks' to Mr Khan's Ulez extension coming this year.
Unlike my 2003 E51, which I got exemption for, thanks to this forum, 1995 is waaay to old to get any exemption.
I am now looking for a Volvo S60/V70. probably a petrol 2 litre auto.
Pre 2005 and road tax is £330, post 2005, when emission value counts, it's £615..
So , anyone have any experience they can share, and anybody want a really cheap Merc?
Happy new year
Londonglide.

Common problem is sunroof drain off pipes leaking , they can come adrift in the A pillar and the footwells fill with rainwater ( check they are dry)

The control arm bushes on the volvos are quite a common failure. Some people replace the whole wishbone with new bushes .if you have use of a hydraulic press it’s easy enough to change them yourself and save a few quid .
I really like the old W124 shape Mercs any pictures of it ?
