I hope this doesn’t count as a technical question but just wanted to know what the uk road tax is for a Nissan Elgrand? I’ve tried reading g the Gov site and also chatGPT but can’t seem to get a definitive answer. Thanks

I'd like to convert a vehicle to electric (probably especially an Elgrand), not because I'd want it for myself but because I'd enjoy doing the conversion. The main problems are sourcing the parts and how expensive they are. Then with something like an Elgrand would find that the very expensive batteries that gave the donor vehicle (say something like a Tesla) 300 mile range only give the Elgrand 150 mile range. Seen those programs on TV where they convert vehicles to electric, the prices they charge are very high, leaves me wondering why the owner didn't fancy saving £50k and still have cheap running costs by sticking an LPG converted V8 in the car instead.
 
I know nowt. But have some ev transit plus ( at work) others, the older ones or should I say the cheeper ones, do 150 miles max. ( Without going into a big story)
The newest do 200 plus miles ( same as above ) but it changes the licence, not car licence, so to get the miles the weight makes a problem ( I'm talking vans)
 
I understand that from April, the vehicle named the Nissan Elgrand will require £345 to obtain an annual vehicle excise duty, payed via a single payment.
 
My renewal has just come through which is £345 but in April it will go up higher always get mine now so I get it 11 months cheaper before the price goes up .

That's about right. All rates are going up by RPI. Exact figures not yer announced.
 
I’ve just payed £362.50 for my 2.5 as of three days ago.
