Looking to put a tow bar on our E51. Having it converted and would like to use a bike carrier. Seems like difficult to get and get fitted?

Also some wanting it before its converted which is not pratical to do my end.

Any advice?

The chassis is essentially a Navarra so a reputable towbar manufacturer-installer should have one in stock, or be able to put one together in fairly short order. Bear in mind that obviously once you have the rack and bikes on, you won't be able to open the tailgate, which is probably going to matter given you are looking at a camper conversion.
There's plenty of steel under there so you might look instead at a custom engineered bike rack that pivots, probably cost about the same.

You should find it relatively easy to get a towbar fitted.

A long time ago I advised people on forum that Towtrust towbars make a good towbar for the E51, now it seems nearly all towbars fitted on E51s in the UK were made by Towtrust.

Would anyone know if the electrics behind the lights are still within reach after we have converted it?

Our local fitter can’t get one but has said if we supply he will fit. But wants it before its converted in case. Unfortunately that’s not possible with what we are doing.
