The original sliding door cable is pvc coated and designed to be a dry mechanism.. how ever over the years the pvc coating will peel off the cable and at the worst case jam the motor .. mine started to peel some years ago so took the pvc off and started to grease the cable n runner tray .. I’ve had no problems with the side power doors working as they should do by doing this .. just a tip …

I polished the runners rather than greased, I always think grease attracts dust and grit. I should just bite the bullet and replace the cable :cold_sweat:

My ones snapped and to access the area where the motor is I need to remove the rear camper conversion!!
I say🖕that I'll stick to manual operation even though I did love shocking people with the electric door! :joy:

Having done my driver's side last year and now have a broking cable on the passenger side that needs my attention, I know how much of a PITA it is to do but worth it though,
where the cable goes through the car there is a plastic wheel that guide's the cable to the tensioner so I managed to get some plastic coated cable as I was concerned that through time it would eventually cut through the plastic wheel like a cheese wire
