Is it worth changing my air filter when I get the oil changed? (E50)

Slowly getting the bits together, bought a Bosch oil filter but still need to find a suitable oil to replace it with, any suggestions would be appreciated (for reference I own the 3.3 Petrol with optional 4WD) but also I don't know the current state of the air filter and what brand is in it, a Bosch one is pretty cheap to buy and decent brand but wondering is it worth just changing out the current one for a new one?
 
Whenever there is an offer on at one of the cart parts places online, I buy a filter or two.
I have never heard a case of anyone ruining their car from changing the filters too often, only not enough :p
