Last year I did less than 2.5k miles in my Elgrand. It can sit on the drive now for weeks, untouched.
I don't want to get rid at all, but I do feel a twinge of guilt every time I walk past and get into my company car (effectively free mileage and no short journey issues).

I've still not attempted a patch up on the rear air con but I keep her clean and polished, a new battery recently, every couple of weeks we'll take a decent long journey too. My kids still prefer the Elgrand to the Tesla.

Still, feeling guilty though 😕

I've started using my daughters Yaris for the short journeys (she hasn't past her test yet) cheap as chips to run with its 3 cylinder engine, but it beats walking and saves ware on my Elgrand 😁 at the end of my street theirs a silver/grey one that never moves ?????

Still, feeling guilty though 😕
Pfff, you're using it like many of the Japanese do - it's a car for family trips when you want the extra space.

If it makes you feel better, in my previous job I was putting 500 miles a week on with the commute, and in my current job it's full of tools and has the delightful scent of two-stroke.

...I think your Elgrand loves that you pamper it and give it a cushy lifestyle of mostly being a Pavement Princess ♥️

I only use mine once a week at most, sometimes goes a couple of weeks, I use a Kia hack for everyday and parking in town, but the Elgrand gets a clean and a longer run wherever possible, it has higher milage than most seem to (200,000 KM), so eventually it will be a low milage vehicle. (for the year) ;)

I bought a motorhome this year, closely followed by a Chevrolet Spark "Tow-car". Use the Chevy for the work commute now (45mpg vs 15mpg with the Elgrand) However, when petrol funds allow, I'm straight back in the G30 beast. Miles per gallon matter, but SMILES PER GALLON are so much more fun.

Feel for me, I have a T5.1 for work and the Elgrand sits outside all week waiting patiently for the weekend, we always use her at weekends!

Im on the same boat...except mine is a BYD
I’m in the same boat - and mine is also a BYD. I drove the Elgrand today for the first time in a while. It certainly feels slow compared to the BYD, but it is a very smooth drive. The autobox is leagues ahead of BMW and Audi (owned both, 6 and 8 speed). Everything feels right, which given it is 20 years old does still surprise me. The BYD has its plus points but so does the Elgrand. It’s not a totally one sided contest. I guess when it comes to it and you’re looking at 21mpg or an overnight charge for a few quid that’s going to be the difference unless you need to take two adult bikes in a boot like I did today!
