According to Internet sources, there are these E50 models:
  • V
  • VG
  • X
  • XL
  • Highway Star
  • Rider
  • S Edition
I guess the last three would be identifiable by badges. Any way to distinguish the other four apart? Mine is a 4x4 and has a 'Limited Edition' rear badge, that's all I know (March 2001). Anyone?

Mine is S edition , it’s not top spec . I’m led to beleive the S edition was just a way Nissan got shot of the last e50 models , basically a hws with a nice 3.5 v6 lump

A edition and limited edition are different.

On the last run of the face-lift e50 they had the holy grail limited edition with all the bells and whistles and was the final test bed for the E51.

They came with the electric sliding door and automatic step...

Not many about.

Mine's an X with auto sliding door. Hope it never goes wrong because the kids are going to be really annoyed when they shout abracadabra and nowt happens!

Not sure you can go on model for extras as many are tooled up as options.
