What have you done to your Elgrand today?

I have really dark tinted Windows on my vehicle.

When I went over to France last month , they caused problems at the security / passport control centres on both sides of the channel.
My vehicle got pulled for security checks, a staggering four times !

Once in Portsmouth going out .
Once in cherbourg on arrival and exactly the same on the return journey .

On asking the very polite inspectors / security team at portmouth , why my van was targeted, he said it is because of the heavy window tints . All occupants were checked with their relevant passport pictures etc.
All holdals / luggage was unloaded and x- rayed and complete vehicle checked fully over going out from Portsmouth.

I have to say , i am not complaining about this . All staff were very professional and courteous indeed . I had a right laugh with some of them too ! Especially with the size of my first aid medical response bag I had with me . (They have never seen so many scissors of different sizes and seat belt cutters etc in one bag before !)

The passport control and security teams do a great job indeed .
After all , i could of had anyone in the back .

So , to conclude, if you have heavy tinted Windows and due to be using a port to travel abroad , prepare to be stopped .

No stops at the Eurotunnel for me and mine are extremely tinted!!! Maybe my wifes neck collar and oxygen tanks stopped them pulling us in!

My god those two are off again! 😝

I'll see how we get on Friday when we use the tunnel.

Thanks all for the advanced warnings.

Gave mine a good hoovering out and cleaned the carpets this morning.Whilst thumbing through the Japanese manuals in the glove
Box I found a small red bag with two little Rider stickers in it.Wondering what they may be for?

i think the red bag denotes , that somewhere in your van is a hidden Japanese porn stash πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

What type did you get? Replacement panel filter or full induction cone?
I'm still waiting for my HKS panel filter to arrive! Always seems to take ages when your waiting for something 😐😴😴

as i got an unexpected day offf
well i washed her with with a new snow foam lance ( cheapo from china it was crap)
so used the vax detergent bottle with halfords wash n wax that worked real well no foam but you could see the suds
then i used the Β£7 trail pack of autoglym ultimate resin polish its a tiny bottle so used most of it easy to apply
and a maguires sheepslin polish mitt to polish it off (no bad but by the time i got to the end the mit was damp and was just reactivating the polish so i had to resort to the old micro cloth
all in all not of the stuff i used were terrible apart from the snow foamer bit i did dilute the wash n wax so i might try it neat next time
I also sorted out the kenwood stereo so both the 128gb usb drives now function correctly as does the blue tooth and the fm radio functions
im getting there
what next well the de cat talked to Bells swindon who quoted it will be at least a couple of hundred quid and im very busy at the moment OK
im not in a rush so ill have a look around as most on here reckon on around Β£100
oh and i slick 50 ed the oil with synthetic grade as it was in a bargain bin with a damaged box (whoo hoo result half price)
