If you have a model that has a phone connector attached to the drivers seat... remove it. It's useless. End of discussion.

im hoping its just a 5v (USB) power supply, it the output cable can be changed...

I was just about to post asking what it connected to, I thought it might be for an old Nokia
 
The E51 quick reference guide lists the subject cable for a Nokia phone.
 
Early Sharp Gx series of mobiles have the same connector, I’ve just bought one of EBay for £6.99 to see if it will work.
So watch this space. 🤪
 
So the Sharp Gx10 phone connects, but does not charge or communicate with the van, so that's end of I'm afraid
