Now then boys and girls. Every year we do one big central Christmas Meet. We get a list of all those who want to come and pick a location that is MOST central to everyone on the list.

CONFIRMED MEETING DETAILS

SUNDAY 24th NOVEMBER @ 12PM

Castlewood Brewers Fayre pub - LINK FOR DIRECTIONS.

We will be having a sit down meal together at this location as we did in 2018. We'll get a corner of the room booked and sorted. I will sort out a cut off date to be able to join for the meal as we need to give the location notice of how many tables etc.

After the meal we will do what we did last year, have a quick run up to Hardwick Hall (J29 M1) for pictures etc.

For anyone wanting to travel up/down on Saturday, there is a Premier Inn located right next to the pub...

Direction to Hotel

If you want to stay overnight, please contact the hotel and book a room directly. If you are booking overnight, please let us know so that we can update the thread here so that we know who is going to be there.

Following the meal there will be a quick stint up the M1 to Hardwick Hall. This is a great place for us to park up, chat amongst ourselves, get some pictures and not get in the way of the pub staff! It's only a few miles up the road, and a convoy of 30 odd Elgrand's would look amazing! Hardwick hall is family and pet friendly, so if you have dogs etc, you can take them for a walk here.
Hardwick Hall is owned by the National Trust and there is a £5 per car fee to get onto the site (free for National Trust Members). So please remember to bring some money to get in if you are wanting to join us up there.

Now then boys and girls. Every year we do one big central Christmas Meet. We get a list of all those who want to come and pick a location that is MOST central to everyone on the list.

This year the weekend of the Christmas Meet is the 23rd / 24th November.

The idea is that on Saturday, those further afield can travel, we stay overnight, and then we have the meet on Sunday.

There WILL be smaller regional meets if they are organised within your regions, but this is the one that is designed to be the last opportunity of the year to get as many people together.

Last year we had the meet at the Castlewood Brewers Fayre pub, just off J28 of the M1. This was a very central location and worked really well, so that's likely to be where we start the ball rolling, but it depends who wants to come and is able to that weekend.

This location worked well as the pub catered for us all, reserving a large area of the restaurant for us to convene, the Premier Inn next door provided overnight accommodation for those of us who had to travel, and then on Sunday, a short drive a little further North up the M1 took us to a National Trust location which was great for photos and chatting.

So who would be up for a big end of year get together? This is the ONLY weekend that is possible, so don't ask about a different weekend. If you want to organise a local regional Christmas meet, speak to your regional rep, or if you don't have one, just start the ball rolling yourself.

Once we have some names on the list, we will firm up the location and the details around times etc. But we need to be quick with getting things organised, so if you want to come, the weekend is good, and you're willing to attend at the location (or at least somewhere near here depending on the list of attendees), get your name down.

All I need to know is if you want to come, the town/area you are travelling from, and how many people (adults & children). We need to know how many because there will be a little gift for everyone who attends.

Unsure if we will be able to make it at present. Loads going on with family matters.

I'll add you to the list for now then, how many people?

If you can commit at any point, let me know and I'll get you on the list.

Sorry but I don't think we'll make this one. Have fun though.
