Seat swivel from sugoicampers

Won't be doing swivel this weekend, weather is crap , bad back and the Boss (Jean) has jobs for me . I'm not teaching next weekend so think I will use the garage and ramp at work for pads , discs , seat swivel and maybe oil/filter change (Engine) done gearbox and its running great .

Just had a really good chat with REN over at sugio campers. I’ve just ordered some swivel bases. They are releasing a more comprehensive fitting video in the next coming weeks showing how the seat trims also refit back on. They have also said they should have the bases on shelf as a stock item come end of the month. Really helpful company.

Still waiting to fit mine , combination of bad weather and bad back 🤬 hopefully this weekend though along with oil and filter change courtesy of Brian at BMR and brake pads from EBC going to see what there like .must admit sugoicampers seem very helpful when ever I have spoken to them . 😎👍

OK, so saw advertised initially at £ 180 & registered interest.
when hit market price had gone up but they agreed on original price
Arrived, and very heft piece of engineering at 16.5kg , looks well made and solid
My mechanic kindly agreed to fit - came back after v. hard session , and explained fitting not as easy as video would suggest!
After some adjustment to torque on base plate however works well.
When in swivel position allows me to lay board over front seat to extend narrow rock n roll bed ( me and the othe other 1/2 find bed too small and need to top/tail, now plenty of room for both of us )
seat level bit higher , but not looking too out of proportion.

I've still to fit mine , hopefully this weekend 🤞😎👍

Well bank holiday Monday and I've got the seat swivel base fitted , not quite as described. The plates that hold the base to the floor needed some adjustment or more precisely the front mounting needed its foot taking off so I could fit the foot plates provided onto the inside of the base not the outside as shown in the video . But got there in the end , now just got to take the feet off the actual seat , having already moved the rear feet forward 2 inches as I've got S2 seats in my S1 and the holes in the floor for the S1 are 2 inches shorter than the S2 floor holes . So rear feet just bolted on and have drilled out the factory rivets 1 on each runner , drill battery's now flat so there on charge to finish drilling out the last few bits . 🤞🤔😎👍Oh and adjusted the friction plate as it was a bit stiff .

Better photo explaining the foot that was cut off . Where the yellow line is that was the foot that was removed. The red line should be Where the green line is but would not allow the holes to line up to bolt the foot to the floor . Hope that helps, remember this is on an S1 not an S2 so I think I may of been sent the wrong one ? . 🤔😎👍

Only problem I now have is that when removing the feet I've distorted the runners and they don't go all the way forward or back . I've got an afternoon off tomorrow so will sort them tomorrow in our workshop, bit of heat will sort them out 🤞🤔😎👍

How did you adjust the torque?, is it just a case of loosening the nylock nuts. Thanks

Yep , as far as I can see you just tighten or loosen the several nuts and bolts that hold it together. But do it b4 you fit it , its a tight fit when it's in position.

Here are a couple of photos that they sent me in an email which I have just discovered. The ones with the coloured lines on are what I have sent them .

Cheers mate, had a little adjust and it's loosened a bit, I do find that the swivel base catches on the carpet on the central transmission tunnel so had to shim the base up slightly.

Mine doesn't ? , you do have to move the seat back and forth a couple of times to get it round into position. 😎👍

I might have to move the swivel base back a bit, biggest pain was removing the feet off the seat. On the video they say remove rivets, spot welds were not mentioned.

There are a few things missing from there video . Not exactly over informative. 🤔😡

Mine is in, I also found the supplied bolts that screw the runners to the base were too long and I had to fit washers. Overall I’m happy with it.

Ooo really interested in these.

Is there a locking one available for the drivers side? How much would you say the height of the seat increases?

I had a look on the Sugoi website but looks like the shop is down. Is there another avenue to view/purchase?

Increases seat height around 50mm although doesn't look daft in comparison to drivers side.
I rang them and asked for the swivel base and paid over the phone.
