Now that I have your curiosity.

If you could please pop the cap off of your Power steering reservoir and let me know how your one smells.

Much appreciated.

Thanks.

Mine has weird fishy smell, I flushed it some time ago but it doesn’t look like that helped. Now the pump is making weird noises…

Fishy and or burning smell can indicate a leak or of course overheating, either within the pump/rack or leakage hitting hot engine components
Either way “ fishy” isn’t usually a good sign

To be fair, it was like that when I got it, call me weirdo but smelled the cap just to see if it was burned. I get it can be burned but the fishy smell is just make no sense u less it’s contaminated. Don’t think I’ve got leaks, done the flush few months ago and the lvl hasn’t dropped at all.

will check out again on Friday and see what’s happening, but I did get the rubbing/skipping noise when turned the steering wheel - happened on cold engine

The reason I mentioned leaks is because if you were to drop say brake fluid on a hot manifold it can smell burnt but often fishy too
Some hydraulic fluids can smell funky ( so I suppose fishy counts) if mixed

Yeah I know what you mean but that smell definitely didn’t go away anyway. Never really had that issue with any car and previous Elgrand was no exception. So a bit baffled.
