Adding some balance to this:
1) Be sure you're clued up on the imported car world, meaning
a) Ensure you have a mechanic (and maybe a back up) who will/and is skilled/experienced in working on Elgrands. This might not always be the case. Parts of course aren't as easy to come by compared to 'normal' cars. Granted they can often be sourced, but maybe the mechanic you use might think it's a bit hard work and not be bothered. Maybe you're skilled yourself and can do basic work etc etc
b) Run some numbers with insurance companies (comparsion websites?) to get a gist of how much it'll cost. Insurance for imports can be VERY high, personal circumstances differ from user to user of course. Note also if the worst happens, due to the difficulty in sourcing OEM parts, insurance companies might write it off at a bar far lower than they would with a 'normal' car.
c) A big one, certainly one I wished I knew before I jumped in, is be aware that with imports there is a much more restricted path if you wish to re-sell. A lot depends on how long you intend to have the van, and how you usually sell cars. If you pass them on conventionally (dealerships/webuy outlets etc), pretty much no dice. If you often sell privately, fine, as this may well be your only re-sale avenue.
If you were aware of that lot^ and/or it don't bother you, good luck with your search. Personally I'd go 3.5L. There are lots of threads on 2.5 v 3.5.
2wd v 4wd depends on your intended use. You'll know that more than anyone and common sense/where you'll end up in it gives you the answer. Note if you didn’t really need 4wd, then it'll be another thing which could go wrong.
