We're designing one plot for the most of the vans to be on. Like a "showoff" plot. The other plot will be our camping plot with a couple spare banners and what have you as well as the Elgrand campers on show there (which can conveniently double as wind-breakers!).

ALL tents and awnings will be on the camping side strictly. This is so our main eyecandy/social plot looks like less of a campsite and more like a showroom. Usual rules apply, if your truck is dirty, your head's going in the stocks.

I need to know (hence the vote) how many Elgrands we have without tents attached to them and how many camping Elgrands we have / who MUST be parked by their tent/awning so we can design a layout for each plot. People will mainly see our wicked vans and not our tents. We're not out to inconvenience anyone, we're just trying to make sure that our pride and joy's look their best for this one time of year, not to mention the first EOC awards. :)

To be clear, if you vote for the Social/Show plot, you are either sleeping in your van or you are sleeping in a tent, but your van will be on the "showroom" plot.
If you vote Camping, you'll be on the camping side on display there. Not because you're second best, but we need some show vans over there to hide all our tents. :p (Including mine, since I plan on bringing a small tipi if I can get hold of one).

If you weren't one to sleep with the noise last year (since I know we had a few complaints) then you tent can go in the quiet camping area and just comment below if your van will be on neither plot. :)

We will be in the quiet camping with the drive away awning but will be putting the van on the stand for display every day then returning it to the camp site to re attach to the awning and sleep in the van. Would be good if all the Elgrand owners can be in one place in the quiet camping area.

How far is the quiet camping area from the stand this year, wasn't far last time? Social area next to the tents sounds no different to last year.

Quiet camping is basically the other side of the Showground away from all of the club stands...

We will try to organise the stand to accommodate loud and quiet tastes but the show in general is quite a loud event so its maybe not the best weekend to catch up on your sleep :)

Cant we put the Caravan where we did last year, over against the boundary fence? it wasn't too far away last year and this year would be closer to the stand. Its near the blue line on the right side, my mrs will not be too pleased if she has to walk too far.

I don't know if its an optical illusion but the show field don't seem to have as many plots this year and seems quite a bit smaller than it was as Newark.

Yeah, JAE seems to be shrinking in size... I remember when it covered 4-5 large fields...

Those were the days!

I've voted as Pop-top but please remember that I'm not arriving until Saturday morning so don't want to be driving over tents!!

Perhaps I misinterpret the post be I'm somewhat disappointed that pop-tops seem second class and not worthy of the "showroom" area.

@Lize, no, not at all, pop tops are awesome!!

All Elgrands are welcome in the 'show' area :) it's just the pop top people usually wish to have a side awning.

We want to keep all the tents and awnings out of the show area to give a cleaner look to the stand, last year it looked like a bit of a random camp site on the stand apparantly.

Worded it wrong/it's late/it's early days in planning.

Bottom line is this, if you're wanting your van on the social/show plot, you cannot have a tent on it. At all. If you van needs to have a tent/awning attached to it, vote for Camping and help hide all our tents. Especially mine, since it'll probably be the tallest.

That's because they keep pi$$ing people off and clubs can't be hassled to attend badly organised shows and taking Thursday away will have had its effect as well. We almost didn't attend too.
