Insuring your Elgrand

Hi Alan,

I'll call them and post on here. Thanks for the heads up.
I hope they give you a good quote, I can't remember if I contacted them direct by phone or online but not sure if they are on a comparison site.

I haven't seen them on comparison websites but I'll check. The problem I have is that as I have a VQ25, not many insurers on comparison websites have the 2.5l option.

I used Mark Richard and they were by far the cheapest I found. 0117 923 1330. I tried Adrian flux and they were a lot more expensive

Anyone have information regarding insurance in Canada? I didn't have problems insuring my JDM Forester but one is limited to Third-Party Liability. I am guessing there is no difference with an Elgrand.

You may well be THE Canadian member...

Every British forum needs a token Canadian :joy:

I tried Mark Mitchell and the quote was c£900. I rang direct line and just over £300 including legal and £500 excess. Covers 15k miles pa and for 2 people.

Mines £700 feel slightly ripped off now 😂

I have already got an import insured with flux, so when my Elgrand is MOTd hopefully shouldn't be difficult to add!

I’m hoping when I get my Elgrand that direct line will be as good as they were with my Bongo, bit of chat online to confirm a couple of details and then a refund from my (at the time) FL2! I’ll let everyone know when I get sorted

I did the rounds with comparison sites, most dont recognise Elgrand from registration etc, so no-go. Of the 3 specialist I tried, cheapest for me was
'Joshua Payne' (Advance Insurance). This is a second car so cannot use my 9+ NCB. Introductory price was £419 with £350 excess. Hope this helps...

Direct line quoted me 370 over the phone with only no claims protection on a 2.5 2005 model. Adrian flux was 750 and lifesure was 1600

LV might get be worth a try too.

I’ve found the specialists tend to be expensive unless you have a lot of modifications which more standard insurers won’t cover.

Don't bother with Direct Line, they were less than helpful when I switch my existing insurance to my Elgrand when I bought it. Mine is a camper conversion so I now insure through the Caravan and Camper Club, excellent cover and much much cheaper.

Direct Line are still best for me, Greenlight have been really unhelpful on the 2 occasions I have asked for a quote. It's like they can't be arsed so they'll never get a penny out of me.
