Well, to add my support for @Karl and the rest of the admin team, I have been a member of this forum/group for (checks joining date, holy cow!) over 4 years now and have witnessed the increased stress that has come with the explosion in membership that has been put on the admin team and especially @Karl himself.

Yes, he has in the past been known to be a little, how can I put it, abrasive, but not without good reason usually. That though, is his character and an example of his passion for this brand and model. Without that passion and driving force, this place would have withered and died long ago.

As far as I am concerned, I would trust @Karl with any amount of money, more than I would certain individuals in my own family !! :joy::joy:

@Karl Thank you for sorting things out and also I appreciate your/admin teams' efforts/time going through all the stresses that you have to go through. From my point of view, you are the boss, nothing unreasonable on changes, I will just follow.

Just my personal point of view, this kind of "forum" appears to be more manageable than FB where it's hard to see things in an organised way. Probably audience can be slightly different there? Not sure, but I prefer here to FB posts to follow. Maybe I'm just getting old, ha ha:joy:

99% of the Club are grateful for the massive amount of time and effort you (in particular) and the rest of the Admin team put in to this resource. The other 1%? Well you'll always have the inadequates who can't create anything useful themselves and who are jealous of what others (like you) achieve. Think you need to resurrect that "ban button"!!

Can’t believe I’m actually reading this!! IF I have this right from what I’ve read....It’s £12!!!!!! And you’re not even forced to pay it to join in! I wouldn’t dream of questioning it and to whoever DID question it....£12 per year for pretty much a 24hours Elgrand specialist helpline, all the technical advice you could ask for, friendship, people from all walks of life who’d run and get petrol and bring it to you at the hard shoulder when you broke down, social events that generally don’t even cost you a penny more than your fuel to get there?! Moral support and a sympathetic ear when shit hits the fan in your personal life and you need a rant, total strangers that go out their way to remember to include you and your kids & family too, a one stop shop and directory for everything you could ever need for your car?! Your rare Japanese car that 90% of garages/parts suppliers etc wouldn’t know where to start....what the absolute FUCK (sorry I’m not one for publicly swearing) I bet wherever you were in the country if you were stranded someone in here would be offering you a bed for the night. True there are people in the world out to make money in a non legit way and it’s wrong I get that, but in these circumstances this is absolutely ridiculous!!! What are you even doing on here if you don’t trust the people running it?? @Karl you would totally regret chucking in the towel, be proud of what you built 👍😡😤

Thanks all for your words of support. It really does mean a lot to know that so many people have so much faith in me.

My aim with ElgrandOC was to set up a free resource for Elgrand owners to use. That's what it is. The membership fees etc were only ever introduced as ab OPTIONAL payment to help pay running costs. I always said that if there came a time when I had to pay for hosting myself, I'd switch it off. That was always my mantra, and remains that way now. But there are so many people who appreciate the club for what it is and choose to help fund it, that we've never even come close to having any financing issues. The fact we've been able to buy 3 top quality marquee's, flags, banners, give away prizes to people... and the EOC Awards 2018 cost a lot more than I expected it to.

In all honesty, I don't really give a shit about money. As long as I can afford to pay bills and put fuel in the Elgrand, I'm happy. I have all of that. I'm not a greedy person.

It sounds cheesy, but knowing I've helped others, saved them money, kept their cars on the road, helped them avoid cowboys... that's payment enough for me. I can afford to buy my own booze.

The accusations have come from someone who is jealous of what EOC has achieved. They don't like the fact that it's ME that's created it.

If people are nice to me, I'm nice to them. If people follow the rules, I don't have to put my "admin" hat on.

@Pippa and I discussed the option of removing ourselves from social media the other day. We've not made a decision yet, but I think it's something we will talk about more, because in all honesty, all it does is create stress and anxiety.
Agree re social media, I hate it, @DJ Trigger doesn’t have it, I have a blank Facebook page which I set up purely to use marketplace and for my local village page so I know what’s on locally that may be nice for my little lad, I have about 4 friends no joke, two of my friends have huge anxiety problems and I blame it entirely on Fakebook, Instasham & Shitter...sorry, Twitter 👍

As a new member, I saw all this mud throwing and acrimony going on and my first thoughts were; Do I really want to be a part of this?

However, having had time to see how the club is run by Karl and his team on a voluntary basis and the membership fees being optional - Something I have never come across before in any of the many owners clubs I've joined - I feel that I want to support the club and Karl.

So I shall be sending my £12 off, happy for it to be used in any way Karl and team see fit.

My thanks to them, for all that they do for us Elgrand owners.

Many thanks for everyones hard work and Karl....
As for the £12 ..... well after first paying mine when i first joined , a few months later i went to Brian of BMR for a full service / shakedown of my newly bought van .
When i received my bill from him - a very big surprise as it came with a Elgrand owners discount!!!
Made the £12 subs look pale - so a big thanks to Brian too!!!
Karl stop feeling you have to explain anything as the majority of members know what support and hard work we get in return!!!
Oh yes , i get to see you next month at last at the Jap show!!!:);)

I understand why you're implementing new procedures just a shame there's a need for it. Keep up the good work.
Don't bother what some FB TROLL says or writes (FB dosn't mean Facebook), If Karl or the other Admin Bods caved in just because of some Knuckle Scrapping Arse Wipe we would all lose out. So Admin Bods, Never Mind FB, just tell them to FOff

What you did with MY sub I could not care less. The knowledge I have gained and money I have saved by using this forum far outweighs the sub. Keep up the great work and dont let the B'Stards grind you down.
I second that. When I paid my sub I didn't consider or care where the money was going and felt that £12 per year was a small price to pay for the resources that ElgrandOC offers!
