He must have had some time spare because the chat lasted several minutes. He started off by saying he remembers where I am because of the Nissan Elgrand on the drive. Apparently there's an Alphard not to far away on another estate, I've not seen it though.
He owns a Vellfire which he imported himself through contacts in Japan (I think he's Japanese - didn't ask) and he has helped friends to import as well. He gave me an overview of the Japanese MOT (Shaken) system, he said it is more expensive than the UK MOT and is more stringent which is why many Japanese drivers buy new cars rather than run older ones.
