British Columbia - Canada

I purchased my E51 a couple of years back from Velocity. Also looking for a different local JDM shop who knows Elgrands. Fyi...Rocky Mountain Imports in N.Sanich imports most of the Elgrand front windshields for thr Speedy Glass shops. He told me side windows are generally custom ordered and take some time to get to Canada. His shop delivery vehicle is a Elgrand. He was a lifesaver when my Elgrand died in Tofino from a faulty crankcase position sensor. Lucky I had BCAA Premium otherwise the tow bill would have been $800. Nissan Nanaimo first said they could read the Japanese codes but ended up their computer could not so towed further to Rocky Mountain. I have now since bought a small proper code reader.
Hello there and welcome!
I appreciate the information posted as it is hard to get parts for a JDM in Canada.
I got my car 4 months ago and I just had an accident but that other story. So, I have been looking for parts all over Vancouver. Surprisingly, I found a E51 in a wreck yard. I have no idea why but at this yard the brake all the windshield on purpose even if the are intact. So this E51 is white, the windshield is broken, the back door is gone, they of course have taken out the engine and transmission. Still has the doors not in minty shape as the car is now resting on the ground and people try to open the doors and slightly bending them. Still has some windows, original stereo, seats (by the way the driving seat is powered), the folding screen, radiator, steering wheel with airbag. It also has both fenders and fog lights. The bumpers have some cracks. I got the carpets and one tailgate strut. Someone looking for parts maybe lucky to find them there.

I have had my E51 for 5 months and I already had an accident 😭 We park the car on a slope and I noticed a loud thunk when shifting from parking to drive. I thought that it may not be healthy for the transmission to be holding the weight of the car (unlike other automatic transmission cars I have driven, this one rolls back on a slope even when on driving) so I thought I would used the foot break before parking. I did it for a week but frequently forgetting about it and trying to drive with the foot break on :scream: One day my wife was late for work and told me she was not able to release the foot break. I was busy working on the yard so I run, opened the door, stretched my leg inside and released the break. My wifey forgot as well to put it on park and the car rolled back with the door open and hitting a pole. The door was pushed beyond its limit biting the fender and unable to close. The lower edge of the door took the hit pushing the door forward. I have no idea how, but the upper corned got rolled in. I called the insurance and been calling, visiting body shops to try to get the car repaired. Since it is an insurance claim, people do not want to spend time fixing the same door as they get paid to get the damage fixed not matter how they get it done. They want to get the parts, pain them and install them not actually doing any body work. So, about 10 shops told me they won't do it through insurance. Most shops will ask me to get the parts and then they can fix it. I checked online and I found a door for about C$150 but the shipping is very expensive. The insurance said that if it is too expensive they are going to scrap the car which is a shame since my car other wise is fine. I finally found someone that told me he has a E51 in his garage for parts and can fix my car. I have an appointment today because the A pillar maybe damaged/bent as well 😫 It is not an authorized body shop, so I have to pay out of pocket then they will send the paper work to the insurance for me to get reimbursed . Or that is the plan. I really like my car and I am trying the keep it and save it from destruction :sob:

Hey Toni,

I'm in the process of selling our van, and recently had the rear glass replaced. But we imported the door as it was less expensive than just the glass. Long story short, the shop that did the work, Richmond Auto Glass, still has the back door minus the glass, if that's all you're looking for.

OMG! That is very kind of you. I appreciate that but I left the driver's door open while parked on a slope, I removed the brake, the car rolled back and the driver side door hit the wall pushing it forward. The front fender and the driver's door are the ones that I need to fix. I appreciate your help.

By the way, I'm going to Japan in October in case some in Vancouver needs something for his/her Elgrand I may be able to bring it here.

Let's do a Vancouver area meet up
I have seen Elgrands here seldomly on the road but I haven't met any owners yet. I live in East Vancouver and I would be delighted to meet you somewhere around here👍

Starting a thread for any Owners in BC to connect.

Back in 2014 I imported BC’s first Elgrand. I know this because our state run insurance provider ICBC didn’t have Nissan Elgrand model programmed into their computers.

These days I see an Ellie on our roads about once a week!

Perhaps we can do a meet up someday?

What happened to you front right control arm? I have been looking up those because I want to lift mine for overlanding and I read that the right way to do it includes replacing the control arm with adjustable ones to correct camber and toeing. What I have read is that some part are the same with the Pathfinder. I will try to look it up and see if they are the same for yours.
I have an E 50 and used struts off of an R50 pathfinder hope this helps
