In order for you to enter your into this competition, you must add details of ANY modification YOU have made to your Elgrand. This cannot be a modification that was done by a previous owner.

If you are not a premium member and therefore unable to upload images, please see THIS GUIDE on how to insert a picture.

There is no template for the text to add to this award, as long as you include details of parts bought, how long the modification took you to make, and any special tools you needed to complete the modification. You do NOT need to post a how to guide on how to do it, although doing so may increase your chances of winning.

Entries will open on 1st July, and will close on 28th July.

VOTING NOW OPEN - CLICK HERE TO VOTE.

Please Enter the Username of the person you are voting for in the TITLE of the message, and repeat the username in the message text (just because you cannot send a blank message).

GOOD LUCK ALL

My mod is my front upper and lower grills on my E50 Rider .The grills were looking worn so I decided to make them look more up to date like the E51 Rider by adding new thicker chrome trim .I like it and think it looks good 😁20180408_211803.jpg20170531_165738-1.jpg
I also added a red stripe for sportiness😎

Hi my modification, was to remove a rearmost seat and and iron work for the guides remove the centre seat and tracks fit a bulkhead with a door ,and fit a removable toilet ,the toilet was researched for height as there is only 4 feet but I found a toilet that was made for a ship was just the correct height .As a result I can still carry four people in comfort ,and it’s possible to enter the rear compartment close the door for complete privacy, and use the toilet the rear windows can be left open for ventilation and the repost seat means it’s quite comfortable to alter your dress. It can also be used as a changing room if you are having a day on the beach and the toilet comes which a insulated cover with the top acting as a seat. The bulkhead was made from grp which is widely used by body builders for making Truck bodies .and the fittings were able to use the floor tracking so nothing in the vehicle is damaged and it can be reversed in about a hour. The purpose of the door is so that the toilet could be used by grandchildren without them having to get out the vehicle. And when the door is left open it is still possible to use the interior mirror.
The exsisting seat can be hinged out of the way and the toilet removed ,and with the door shut you have a large cargo area for tha dump runs etc without getting dirt or smell in the rest of the vehicle.
I changed from a motor caravan to the Nissan because it is not only superior vehicle to drive but it has a low roof height meaning it’s possible to park in car parks ,which we found impossible with the small motorhome.
This conversion makes the vehicle an ideal Multi purpose vehicle or day van that you can obtain.the cost of the materials was not cheap at £400 . But I believe it was worth it for all those
little emergency’s that one encounters with young or old people.

My favourite mod is an airlift kit to firm-up the standard rear springs : https://forum.elgrandoc.uk/threads/fitting-airlift-1000-kit.5985/#post-50539

The full cost delivered to UK was £103: https://www.amazon.com/LIFT-60774-1...1530540031&sr=8-1&keywords=airlift+1000+60774 Fitting took half a day to figure out one side, then an hour to do the other side (I documented and photographed the gotchas in my thread above). No special tools needed, just a bit of patience, it's easier than swapping rear springs (as some have done, which requires more heavy wrench-work and a re-alignment job)

My bus now handles much better, although these 18s help too:

nice little under the hood mod took a bit of playing about with photo shop and lining it all up but now sprayed it looks cool
and gets a lot of attention at shows20170706_192106_HDR.jpg20170709_103123_HDR.jpg

My little mod was to change the old tatty gear knob for this. It lights up for around 30 seconds when you touch it and recharges via the cigarette lighter socket. £14 from China! Took me longer to get it out of the packaging than it did to fit it :cool:IMG_0290.JPGIMG_0291.JPG

Would recommend this mod to everybody the ride is so much better no body roll or bouncing about much more comfortable for the back row passengers and an easy diy fit

My best mod has to be the front end of my E50 the front grill and bumper. It completely changes the whole look of the car! 😍 The grill was custom made by me, cutting out the bars from the original grill and remoulding with fibre glass and body filler, re-sprayed in black and backing it with anodized gold mesh. The bumper was imported from Japan and is made by fabulous, and it has to be the longest 7 month wait I've ever suffered waiting for it to arrive!

Not much of a modification, but it is just about at the limit of my skills. I must say though, that this competition could well prove to be quite costly, as I am already thinking of fitting, or at least getting someone else to fit, an airlift kit & I do like the gear knob, also a new set of wheels, nice red callipers & so on. Just hope this competition doesn't go on for too long as I might have to re-mortgage the house.

Well here it goes.....
After searching for a boot liner with no success I convinced my wife that we should make our own.
My wife makes loads of quilts infact anything much with a sewing machine.
The idea is to make a boot liner that's hard wearing, waterproof, easy clean and good quality and could be used with any seat configuration.
So here it goes.
Once we had the idea of what we needed to do and worked out how it would fit together, where it would attach and sizes we set about making a pattern.
Rear seat cover which incorporates 2 side wings and a long floor cover.
The floor cover and sides needed to be incorporated so if the rear sears are down it can be used as a stand alone liner with no need for the long floor section.
Approx. 6 mts of both top and bottom fabric used.
24 Heavy duty poppers.
2 "D" rings
10 mts of binding.
Probably 1000 mts of stitching. lol
And on and off 3 weeks to design, tweak And complete.
But this is the prototype so now we know how to do it will be quicker for any others.

Special tools needed...…..

Wife with sewing skills.

I fitted the obligatory rear fog light but have no photos of that! The only other mod I have done is fitting seats so the kids are legal and washing the BigBadBus! Not really mods though! DSC_0290.JPGreceived_967595030081757.jpeg
