I thought I'd do a little bit of analysing seeing as we have now completed our second full year as a club! (Wahoo!).

I wanted to see if there were any trends year on year that could help the team to manage the club.

So, I've pulled the below three graphs together as a visual representation of what is going on.

The first graph is the total number of posts made and the number of "likes" received (the likes only start in Oct-15 which is when we got the Xenforo forum software, previous to that we had phpBB which did not have a "like" feature).

You can see that, although 2016 was a better year overall (as you would expect from a growing club, that the number of posts through the summer drop dramatically. I am wondering if this is due to people being on holiday, or people are just online less over the summer as they are out and about enjoying the lighter evenings and warmer weather.
In both years November takes the hot seat for the highest number of posts.

Let's hope that trend line keeps going the way it's pointing :D

The next graph shows the total number of "active users". Now I am not sure how the forum gathers this information, but I assume it's based on the number of different people logging on from different IP addresses. I know that this isn't just registered users, as the active user count is substantially higher than the actual member count, so this must include guests who are browsing the forum for information. Again, it's great to see that more and more people are using the forum each month, but I had no idea until I looked at this that we have had over 3000 different users looking through the forum in any one month. That's an average of 100 different people looking every day.

Shows that the content we have is worth looking at. I hope that the guests who don't register and introduce themselves are getting valuable information from our members.

This last one shows the number of sign ups the forum has received. The peak in Oct-15 is when we installed Xenforo, so it looks as though the move from phpBB to Xenforo paid off and brought a lot of people on board and away from Facebook.

So, take of this what you will. But to me this all looks very promising. The club is in a premium position to move forward and become even bigger and better. I am also glad to see that despite a number of performance issues recently, people are still using the resources that have been put in place. A lot of time and effort (and swearing) have gone into getting the website to where it is, and I'm chuffed to bits it's reaching so many people across the world!

There you go Karl, the writing on the wall. Fantastic.
If l may make a suggestion from what l posted prior. With the movement of our Victorian members to other states we established a administrator for each state obviously to organize events & to assist those members. The group arranges a annual meet each year in a different state.
You maybe already doing so.

Set up second forum in UK was brave decision, as not many Elgrands on the roads... Who remember Gestapo Ning? :D:fubar: Landline call back :banghead: EOC 1:0 Ning

Great news about club growing ,and massive thanks for all your and your team work ,but on a negative .
I don't if it's just me but I am thinking alot of members just join to get info to fix they car and then not heard of ,I am member of club to get info and try and give info .Hope this makes sense ,to me club is great but doesnt seem to be as helpful and friendly as when I first joined ,I am not putting club down in any way just saying my stupid little view

You're right @malcolmyz85, a lot of people do come and go when they have their answers.

I think a lot of the "good" people have stopped frequenting the site due to the running issues. But touch wood, been almost 24 hours without a hitch.

I hope, as the forum stabilises and performance improves, people will start coming back and checking more regularly.
