I’ve stumbled across these while looking for ideas for fitting out my e51 after we sell the big Chevy campervan...

They look very interesting giving more interior space than a HiAce or similar van and seem to be a similar price to a nicely specified e51 poptop at £15-17k otr here.

That’s an interesting one - definitely makes more sense if you need a bigger camper - handy that there are ones already converted too.

It’s probably just the angle but the bottom left photo in the initial post makes it look a bit like a cut and shut with the back end of a van welded on. Looks fine in all other photos / angles though.

Yeah, there is nothing from the back of the front doors to the back of the van that closely resembles an E50. Looks like they have just taken the back end off a wider vehicle, welded it to the front end of an E50.

I agree that it's a great solution to the Camping problem, but I much prefer the narrower "standard" conversions with the pop top to give head space. Then again, I never really use my Elgrand to sleep in, so I wouldn't miss any of those comforts that come with the wider interior.

Look at the dogging / swinging opportunities with that bed though!

Think of the extra revenue that the videos could bring!

(Did I just say that out loud?) :scream:

Absolutely it’s a e24 Urvan rear grafted to an e50 cab. Bearing in mind I was looking at e24 campervan to get extra space, but they loose out because engine between front seats stop front seats rotating and becoming part of the living are ... then these look very interesting.

Chassis development was for Paramedic and Taxi versions so cut n shut looks were masked somewhat by signwrighting and other logo.
It’s not a looker but would suit my usage perfectly. I’m never going back to flimsy Euro van / motorhome build quality so I’m very tempted.

Seems ideal for you @MrRob_in. You have the 51 for looks 😁
It might even replace the e51 and Chevy. The Paramedic version had a longer build period and came with the 3.5... so perhaps i can find a good Ambo to convert or retro fit a 3.5 in place of the 3.3 in a Field Base.

Nope (why would Nissan build a car using another manufacturer’s parts when they have a direct competitor?)

E24 long

Maybe a shared platform by both eh Rob as its a common thing these days especially engine sharing.

We all know the Chinese are well known for copying others too. You only have to look at the back of our new MG-GS to see its a BMW X3 copy and why BMW tried and failed to STOP MG Motors UK building it.
