Mine just needed a good wash with soapy water and a light buff with a microfibre cloth on all
3 lens surface. Ie sensor and protective lens.

Do you know if the grille cover (lens cover) comes off without having to remove the whole grille? (S1 with sensor in the grille). Looks like a major job to remove the whole grille!!

It wasn’t on mine because all the awkward fittings had been left off at some point in past. Though all the visible ‘square pinch’ clips exploded when twisted to release them so I used long cable ties to refit the grill. Far easier next time as they just need to be snipped off to re-access the sensor next time it needs a clean.

Sorry I didn’t try removing the lens as so many clips and lugs snapped as I removed them. I had to access horn to attach it as it was hanging loose and swinging about so top grill had to come out. I’d be worried the clips holding it in place from behind would snap but I guess it would be easy enough to silicone it in place.

Thanks for that. I'll have a look and give it a gentle fiddle to see if it will come off. Then I can give it all a clean up and maybe get it to work again!!

Just out of interest, does anyone who has the cruise control know if the buttons should light up on the dark? Never had a car with CC not to have lit buttons, and find it is fiddly/impossible to use on a dark motorway!!

No they don’t light up, but you do get to know them by feel after a while. Same with radio (volume) the other side.

Thanks Rob! At least I know it's not broken! The lack of lighting is weird though, I had lit wheel buttons on my 2000 Vectra SRi!! The really weird thing is the mains invertor and door control switches under the steering wheel light up, and you can't even see them unless you are out of the car and sticking your head underneath!!

I only had a truck I had to drive for work where all the backlit switches didn’t illuminate. I had a small clip on low powered map reading light I’d clip high up shining down on console. Worked fine. Perhaps you could rig up a little led downlighting?
